The Open Education program of OnePlanet Research Center was created to contribute to education, and the workforce, for and of the future. This is done by (pro) actively contributing to courses for students at MBO and HBO level with knowledge about and the introduction of the latest digital technology. Students are prepared to work with new technology and the resulting changes in professional practice. OnePlanet also contributes to adult education in the context of “lifelong learning” through dissemination of knowledge on the use of the latest digital technology, applications and resulting changing professional roles.
OnePlanet Research Center provides knowledge, experience with potential applications and new digital technology to teachers and also instruction / guidance to students, teachers and professionals / labor market.
In addition, OnePlanet continues to play a driving role from the OpenEd program, aimed at the realization of structural educational cooperation in thematic clusters, including through the design of practice-based work-learning places. Through “challenges” from practice (Gelderland care providers / care entrepreneurs / agricultural entrepreneurs / ICT companies / SMEs) are elaborated by students from MBO / HBO / WO, the professional practice involved and end users. In this way we also support and stimulate the close interaction between SMEs and schools. The domains in which connection is sought with education are “Precision Technology in Agriculture and Food” and “Precision Health, Nutrition and Behavior”. OnePlanet is committed to disseminating the latest technological insights, trends and specific sensors to vocational education and the various professional groups. The innovation goals of OnePlanet Research Center are the starting point for the activities within the OpenEd program.
